# Recursiv

> Recursiv is the platform for building, running and governing autonomous agents. One SDK, one API key, one bill. Recursiv is the whole backend in one SDK. Instead of wiring up a database provider, an auth provider, an agent framework, a sandbox provider, a deploy provider and a billing provider, developers install one SDK and get all of it behind one API key. The platform handles the plumbing so teams ship product, then governs every agent action with scoped identity, policy-gated tools and a full audit trail.

The company was founded by Jack and Bill Ottman, previously cofounders of Minds (an open source social network launched in 2011). Recursiv exists because the tooling they wished had existed in 2011 still did not exist fifteen years later in 2026.
